Terrific Broth (TB) Powder – 250 g
Biologix Terrific Broth is a dry powdered culture medium designed to support high-density growth and enhanced recombinant protein expression in Escherichia coli. Its nutrient-rich formulation can help increase biomass and protein yield compared with standard LB media.
TB Broth is suitable for a range of expression systems, including IPTG, arabinose and maltose induction. It may also be used for the recovery and maintenance of lyophilised bacterial strains.
The formulation contains elevated levels of tryptone and yeast extract, with glycerol serving as an additional carbon source.
Final pH at 25°C: 7.2 ± 0.2.

Preparation Instructions
- Weigh 50.9 g of TB Broth powder.
- Add to 1 L of distilled water and heat while stirring until fully dissolved.
- Add 4 mL of glycerol.
- Dispense into suitable containers as required.
- Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes before use.
Composition per Litre
Contains 12 g tryptone, 24 g yeast extract, 2.31 g potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 12.54 g dipotassium hydrogen phosphate.
