Biologix 1X Tris-Glycine-SDS (TGS) Electrophoresis Buffer is a ready-to-use running buffer designed for denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. It is suitable for SDS-PAGE, where proteins are denatured and separated primarily according to their molecular weight.
SDS acts as an anionic detergent, unfolding proteins and giving them a consistent negative charge. This helps minimise differences in native protein charge and structure, allowing more reliable size-based separation during electrophoresis.
